I must get better at this blog stuff. Time passes me by so fast. Again it has been several months since I posted. Whew!
Well, at Christmas we had almost 3 feet of snow. That sure kept us close to home. 10 days I didn't leave the house. Our roads were so bad we finally had to hire a plow to get our neighborhood moving again. We even missed our Christmas event at church, could not even move on our roads. We had two sheds fall, one on my husbands car and one just after we moved our truck. Boy, glad that is over.
The best thing about the snow is we lost our power on Christmas morning. This doesn't sound all that great but, after we open presents and have breakfast, we all go to our "stations" and play with our new stuff and don't really interact as we are enjoying our gifts. So with no power we were all stuck together as we couldn't turn on our new gifts. So we went
out side and the kids tried to snowboard down our road, but it was too powdery, so of course, a snowball fight was in order. Then a long walk with both dogs and a fire in the wood stove, with snacks to eat...and...the power came back on at 6pm and we fixed and ate dinner. What a wonderful Christmas we had together!!
Well, onto new things for the new year. My daughter and I have started a business on Etsy. This is where you sell your handmade items. We just opened it a week ago. So we are very much new at this. But we have 25 items for sale. Go to http://www.jadewink.etsy.com/ to see what we have to offer. We are having a lot of fun with this business. Expect exciting handmade items in the future.
One of the things I purchased last year to make my work easier was a Miele Rotary Iron. That saves me so much time ironing. When I am pressing fabric, or need to put fusible stabilizer onto a large piece of fabric, or most anything, I can have it done in no time. WOW! Along with my portable Laura Star, I can press anything!
Hands-on classes are fun and exciting as always. I must get a few more new classes that I am offering onto http://www.qualitysewing.com/ so everyone can get signed up for all the fun we have creating, learning, and just hanging out with each other!
Well, thanks for stopping by, I will try to post more often as I am getting more organized with my daughters help!
Enjoy your sewing adventures!
